Looking at a Wilson combat AR 9 how do you like yours and how accurate
is yours.

I got to put some rounds through one when visiting Wilson Combat last year. It had an Aimpoint Micro T1 on it. It was using Beretta mags. That gun was extremely accurate and I saw no failures with I or anyone else shot it. The recoil was next to nonexistent. Very fun gun!

I've had an AR9G (Glock mags)for about a month now. I mounted a Leupold DPP on it. It will shoot into an inch at 25 yards with cheapo 9mm ammo off the bench. In the hands of a more skilled shooter, I'm sure it would do better.

Wonderful trigger.

It stumbled a bit out of the gate a few times during the first 100 rounds or so, failure to lock back mostly, but has run fine since. Again, I'm not feeding it high grade ammo by any means, some WWB, Herters, RP bulk, that sort of thing.

I did replace the charger handle with an AXTS Raptor 'cause I'm a lefty and I wanted a bigger, easier to operate handle on it.

I love this AR9! A hoot to shoot.

NETim, I've been chatting with George, and I'm placing my order this week... the fine ECRon this site recommended an Ambi safety and Ambi charging handle (both from WC)... as a lefty also, I'm thinking this would work - was this on your consideration list?

Ps... I have a T1 on my Mark 4 target, and was going to place a second on my new 8" 9mm AR... when it gets home next April (uhg)... but thoughts on the Leupold? (Wish they had a similar warranty to the optics line). Thanks!

I bought the gun "off the shelf" so to speak. It didn't come with any ambi controls. I like the Raptor handle on a "game" gun. It's well made, has a good reputation and is very easy to manipulate from either side.

I have learned to use AR's w/o the ambi safety. (w/o ambi anythings really.) LH trigger finger can easily flip it on and off. I could be wrong, but I haven't seen the need for an ambi safety.

The Leupold Delta Point Pro seems like a fine unit thus far. I have the 7.5 MOA "delta" dot in it. Again, it's a "game" gun for shooting maybe out to 50 yards. The large dot is fast to pick up. I have an Aimpoint M3 on my 5.56 AR, the "serious" gun. Typical Aimpoint product, rugged and reliable. But I believe the DPP will be faster in use for competition. But no, I don't think it's nearly as rugged as an Aimpoint. The DPP is well built, with a steel outer shell etc, so it will take some abuse IMHO. I just wouldn't expect it to survive a nuclear blast like an Aimpoint. :)

Thanks NETim, good discussion... my T1 is my first Aimpoint exposure and I really like the product... whole new can of worms... dot size? I have 2moa on my 22 and works great but on an SBR... PERHAPS a 4moa dot would be more appropriate- typical pistol bay long shot is 35 yards... no prone shooting with score here.

Wiz.... (that is an awesome set up) do you ever use your iron sights? If you ordered again would you ever just go re dot and clean up the rail?

I do use them when I am at the indoor range. I mounted the Aimpoint to cowitness with the iron sights extended. No real reason except that the LaRue mount makes it easy to do.

I have had mine for a little over a month. I got the 14.7" with permanent brake. I now have a Holosun HS515CU on it now and really like it. I've run probably 20 different types of 9mm through it and all will shoot inside a 2" circle benched at 25 yds. Probably could do better with a magnified optic (old eyes).

I can't say mine's been 100% reliable with extended magazines. I'm still working on getting magazines sorted out that work 100%. Tried Factory Glock 33 rd Gen 2 and 3 with an Aredondo extention that let me load 37 rounds, but had failures (double feeds). Suspect the Glock factory spring is not strong enough. Have ordered some new springs from Taylor Freelance to try as well as their extension to give me 41 rounds. :biglaugh:

The Glock 17 round mags with Aredondo extentions appear to run 100% when loaded up to 21/22 rounds. Standard Glock mags (Only tried 15 and 17 rounders) also run good.

Other than that, all I've changed on mine is the charging handle and added a ambi-safety. Lovin' it and enjoy shooting it in USPSA. Shot a classifier match last weekend so we'll see what I get. :)
