Does Blackhawk make a Serpa holster for the 1911 officer?

I believe they only make the 1911 size holster and an officer model would fit , but there would be the additional length for the full size. As for who would want one: anyone in an open carry state. They are good holsters if concealment isn't a big issue.

I carry and conceal my serpa holster just fine. I love it. I had one for my Sig. Loved that. I think it shouldn't be a problem to cut it down and round out the cut edge. If your looking for something to give you some retention, that is easy(ish) to take on and off. Serpa holster is the way to go. I understand you either love them or hate them. But from looking around online, I find the most people that don't like them are people who carry glocks, or there DOA pistols.:bawling:. I think if one practices with an empty weapon, finds out how to work it the best, its a great accessory to a great tool (the 1911). Good luck in your descion.

I have a Blackhawk one for another pistol. I like it, but it is not concealable for me without a heavy coat or something over it. It's a good woods/open carry set up though. I think they're better suited for duty carry or open carry than for concealment, even though Blackhawk markets them as concealable holsters.
It's hard to beat a good leather IWB for concealability IMO.

Serpa holster

No they do not make a serpa for 1911 officer. I just got a new catalog from them last week and they do finally make a Serpa for the Commander. They do make leather holsters for an Officer model I think.

ITs probably the same set up as seen on the Glock Serpa's. You are better off getting a holster for a small framed gun. It will work wiht the larger/longer barrelled gun as well.

Example - I have a Serpa for the Glock 27(subcompact) that is perfect for my Glock 22 (full length). The barrell just extends beyond the bottom of the open holster. Looks pretty cool like that too.
