Thanks! I owned a pair of TRS's years ago. I sold them and have regretted it ever since. I picked up a UTC from John in April. Then ordered the Recon a couple weeks later. The Recon fits the bill perfectly with the Surefire underneath. Will post pics soon!

Hold on guys, I have not renewed my CC, so I have to wait until cleared before it can come home. All depends on how fast the local LE office approves. All the rain here disrupting everything is keeping them busy I am sure. Hopefully tomorrow! I will have pics.

 

You have to have a concealed carry permit to purchase a handgun in your state?

 

I was wondering the same thing. Especially since I am considering a move to Washington. State that is.

 

No, a CC is not needed for a handgun. However, if one does not have a CC you have to suffer through a waiting period (backgroung check). It is not a set period. If I remember correctly it is based upon the local sheriffs office. Some act a little quicker than others. So the time frames have varied when I have purchased pistols.

 

Man that sucks, the FBI background takes about 10 minutes.

Beautiful gun. In the semi custom 1911, in my opinion that Les Baer builds the most inexpensive rail 1911 currently on the market. 2nd in production line is the DW Speciaist with all the bells and whistles.

 

That gun is awesome. That gun in HC is exactly what I need.

 

Thanks for all the comments. The finish is blued, my camera is not the best and gives it that dull Baer Coat look. The finish is awesome! I put the surefire on last night just to check the fit. It locked up nice and tight. This will make the perfect house gun.

 

Just curious how you are liking your Recon? Have you had a chance to run some rounds through it yet?

 

Sean, IM'd you my initail impressions. This thing is built good like every other Baer I own or have owned. I have not made it out yet but I have no worries about her being accurate. The Baer's of past, my 2 TRS's, darn near created severe sweat to rack the slide for the initial rounds. This one is smooth and glides nicely. I cannot wait to put a few hundred rounds down range!

 

I have question as since I am a new comer to baer 1911 and was wondering would you recomend a trs or a ultimate recon for a good bare starter. I have ordered two srp's and thinking of ordering one of those two baers.

What type of Baer should I purchase I'm between a recon and a thunder ranch special, I have already ordered two srp's and was trying to decide a next one and wanted your opinion was.
