I write this as some information for those looking at IWB holster. I received my Summer Special 2 few months ago from Brownells. It is for a full size 1911 pistol. Once I got this holster, of course like a kid, went down and put it on and slid one of my pistols in it. I can say this, it was made for the 1911 and felt like made for me. The holster has a great cant to hide and access the grip, and felt as if it belonged on me, no fighting or adjusting. To take it off undo the snaps, and pull this holster out, with ease. The mouth of the holster stays open and is great for holstering with out fuss. I have a fiber optic front sight, but the way the holster is designed with a "channel", it slides in and out without drag or picking anything up. I have worn the holster everyday for last few months, and it is the most comfortable IWB holster I have ever worn, sitting in chair or car doesn't matter either. Once I put it on and adjust my belt it stays put and doesn't move.
Now, I am a hard fit, I am 5'7" and stocky 275. I have used a lot of the "hybrid" holster out there over the years, as well as, other name brands. None felt as nice as this. I can slip this holster on, and it almost totally disappears with just a T-shirt, (better than other styles for me). The leather is rough side out which aid in keeping it in place, but if you are "sensitive skin", you will need a undershirt. If you struggle with the modern IWB holsters, take a look at these. For the money, the holster is well worth it. I will do a follow up, in few more months, perhaps a video.

The whole Milt Sparks line is like that. I also started with a SSII. Liked it so well that I tried a VMII. My 2 favorite go to holsters. SSII for my Hi Power and the VMII for my DW Guardians. I am thinking of trying the Criterion, but have not convinced myself that I would gain much over my current choices.
Good choice op, and they also wear like a tank.

Great holster. I have one of these for my fullsize 1911 and Makarov. Truly my favorite style holster. Milt Sparks is top shelf. Easy on-and-off and the swade side out leather keeps it nice and snug without moving around.

I started with the VMII several years ago, have several now for my various size 1911's. Decided recently to try the Criterion, and it will be 12 to 18 weeks before it comes in. For training classes I have a 1AT-RT that works great as well (OWB). Milt Sparks is some of the best leather gear for carry that you can buy IMO; great choice.

Awesome. Sweet belt too. My Milt Sparks belt has the best buckle I've ever had.

I bought my SS2 from Brownell's to avoid the wait-time and it served as a great introduction tot he Milt Sparks line. Now I have a SS2 for both a gov't and officer and couldn't be happier. Worth the wait was the VMII for my gov't and the Criterion for my officer. I use the MS belt for dress. But, my "work" belt is a double thick from DM Bullard.

I'm finally glad there is another lefty here that actually has this holster. I ordered mine about a couple weeks ago and can't wait to use it.

Now I can see what mine will look like. So cool. Thanks for sharing this. 😀

I have been a fan of the "Summer Special" for several decades!! I've made my own, bought MS, and other makers over the years. Bruce Nelson hit a home run when he designed the Summer Special!!! I have the MS version for my 1911 Commanders and it works great.

Yeah, +1911 for Milt Sparks

I use the SS 2 made for a Commander but the full size also works in it,
covering the triggerr guard. EDC is an SA RO Compact. with
MS 1 1/2" gun belt MS IWB Single mag carrier
Also an MS OWB #Axiom for a Full size
& an MS #Mirage which is OWB/Inside the belt only covers the trigger
guard like a Yacqui slide discreet.

I've also had the AW200 for 4" L-Frame worked great

Perhaps I need to place an order.
